Love is a verb
I saw an IG reel of a philosopher who was answering a date's question on what her favorite phiilosophy of love is, and she mentioned bell hooks' Theory on Love which is love is a practice, not a feeling.
As someone who has been reading bell hooks' 'All About Love' (the language is light but the content is heavy imo, fantastic read — I highly recommend it!) I love her answer!
I feel like love is what remains in a relationship if/when when your job, social status etc are stripped from you.
People with means could technically 'buy' attention or care or affection or attraction in systems like capitalism, but those aren't love per se. Love is interdependence, not transactional.
